Day 15: August 3, La Punt, Graubunden, Switzerland to Orvieto, Italy

On the last day of the course, we took a group photo outside the house, and prepared to go our separate ways for a week.

We (the students) loaded up our trusty Passat wagon for its long voyage to Italy for a weeks vacation, after all why waste the opportunity? Those of you contemplating a European vacation with a Volkswagen Passat, please proceed further to educate yourselves on the reality of that situation .

The Passat had 5 passengers and their stuff….five (well maybe 4 and a half) full-grown, adult passengers. Its a good job we got to know each other pretty well over the previous 2 weeks, as it was pretty intimate. Driving the car suddenly became a sought-after job, despite facing ‘car-mageddon’ on Italian highways.

You must be 5’ tall or under for this portion of the ride.
Its pretty amazing what poor graduate students'll do to avoid paying for a hotel!

As for the Profs........ They went to

Work on glaciers in the Piz Bernia and....

to hike & collect from the Adamello in Italy
