This movie shows a small part of experiment XES 99-1, done at the Experimental Earthscape Facility at the St. Anthony Falls Hydraulic Laboratory, University of Minnesota. The size of the basin for this experiment is 3 m wide x 6 m long. The basin floor subsides through time. A mixture of sediment and water enters from 4 input sites at the top of the frame. Autocyclic events (mostly labled) in the movie include avulsion, lateral sweeping, channel expansion events, bar migration, nickpoint retreat. For more information go to Chris Paola's site.
