The XES06 experiment was conducted in the large experimental flume, also known as "Jurassic Tank" (http://www.safl.umn.edu/facilities/experimental_earthscapes_basin.html) at the St. Anthony Falls Laboratory, University of Minnesota, part of the National Center for Earth-Surface Dynamics (http://www.nced.umn.edu/)

The experiment was designed to look at controls on sedimentation and morphology in a half-graben system fed by the interaction of a longitudinal transport system as well as smaller sediment sources on the hangingwall and footwall sides of the graben. The example shown here is from Stage 2 of the experiment, which emphasized footwall dominated sedimentation.
